Andy Lau once again supports the new director "star attractive force plan" to launch 6 films
(Photo/Yang Liu) In 2005, Andy Lau invested in the launch of the "Asian Rising Star Director Program". The six newcomers he supported at that time have become well-known directors in Asia today, the most famous of which is Ning Hao, who quickly became famous with the movie "Crazy Stone". After two years, the organizers once again announced the launch of the "Asian Star Attractive Force Film Program". Although Andy Lau did not participate in the investment, he will once again support new directors through other forms of cooperation.
On the 15th, the "Asian Star Attractive Force Film Project" was launched in Beijing. New directors Wu’ershan, Fang Yaxi, Yan An and others made an appearance with short films. Most of their works are mainly self-deprecating, which makes people laugh after watching. Fang Yaxi’s new work even set off a small climax of the press conference. He said that after receiving the support, he will shoot a thriller comedy.
On the same day, "Brother Dao" Liu Hua, the beneficiary of the "Rising Star Director Program", served as the host, and actors Yao Chen and Song Ke, general manager of Taihe Maitian, and other guests were present to help out.
As early as March 2005, the first "Asian Rising Star Director" program was launched, and Andy Lau’s Yingyi Entertainment had supported six small-budget Chinese-language drama films shot by seven directors from Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the mainland at one time, including "Crazy Stone" and "Mermaid". That year, "Crazy Stone" earned 23 million yuan in box office revenue at a cost of 3.50 million yuan, creating the box office myth of Chinese small-budget movies.
This time, the organizers want to continue to write the myth, and after two years of brewing, they have launched the "Asian Star Attractive Force Film Project" again. "We will support six new directors this year and launch six new film projects with a cost of less than 5 million yuan," said Tang Xiru, the producer of the project.
Tang Xieru introduced that the "Asian Star attractive force" plan will focus on the Chinese mainland market, and in terms of investment, production and distribution, it will radiate to Chinese-speaking regions such as Asia and European and American Chinese communities; among the six film projects in this round, the mainland and Hong Kong are the main investment and creative structures, and other Chinese-speaking regions will be added to increase the overall international character of the project.
